Lovable agency: What an experienced agency can really do for your project with Lovable
Lovable builds web apps and websites in record time. What an agency contributes, what it costs and how to recognise a good Lovable agency – with three projects from our own work.

Lovable is an AI-powered website and app builder: you describe what you need and get real code – complete with React, database, authentication and deployment. That is both its appeal and its pitfall. A prototype can be ready in an hour. That does not automatically give you a website that Google understands, your team can maintain and that still serves you well in three years.
As a Lovable agency, we have worked with the stack daily for over a year – for client projects and for our own website, which you are reading now. This article shows the difference between "it works" and "it sells".
What Lovable can do – and what it cannot replace
Lovable produces a real code project, not a site-builder export. That means no restrictive templates, no plugin dependencies and no licensing traps. You can build anything possible in React – custom calculators, booking flows, customer portals and admin backends.
What Lovable does not provide is judgement:
- Strategy: Which pages do you actually need, and what question does each one answer?
- Design: A distinct visual language rather than the default aesthetic shared by every AI project.
- SEO architecture: Server-side rendering, a clear URL structure, per-page metadata and structured data.
- Data model: Tables, permissions and roles that still work properly with 500 records and three editors.
- Operations: Backups, monitoring, updates and a point of contact.
The process: four phases rather than one prompt

| Phase | What happens | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| Strategy | Target audiences, site structure, keywords, functional scope | 1–2 weeks |
| Prototype | Clickable version with real content, no placeholder text | 3–7 days |
| Build | Design refinements, data model, content management system, performance | 2–4 weeks |
| Launch | Redirects, analytics, indexing, training | 3–5 days |
The key difference from traditional projects: the prototype is no longer an expensive intermediate deliverable, but emerges almost as a by-product. This shifts the budget towards where it makes a difference – strategy, content and refinement.
What a Lovable agency costs
Prices depend on scope, not technology. As a guide based on our projects:
| Project type | Scope | Investment |
|---|---|---|
| Website with a fixed structure | 5–8 pages, CMS-ready, SEO basics | 4.500–8.000 € |
| Custom company website | 10–20 pages, content management system, blog | 9.000–18.000 € |
| Website with a tool or portal | Calculator, booking, login area, admin | from 15.000 € |
| Ongoing support | Updates, monitoring, changes | 150–800 € / month |
When comparing quotes, look at three things: will you own the code, is server-side rendering included, and who will maintain the site after launch? You can find details on pricing in our article Commissioning a website and our tech stack comparison.
Lovable has not made us faster because we think less. It has made us faster because we can test ideas immediately rather than describe them in strategy documents. Our clients see a real, clickable version in week two – and make better decisions as a result.
Project example: Helix Combat Series – a custom tool in the backend
For Helix Combat Series, we developed not just the brand and website, but also a microtool built directly into the backend: the team uses it to create fight cards and graphics in the brand's visual style independently, without design software and without us.
This is exactly where the stack pays off – building a tool like this from a collection of plugins would have been expensive and fragile.

We have described how the tool works technically in detail here: Microtool for Helix Combat Series.
Project example: ZOO Event – a website as a sales tool
For ZOO Event, the project was about more than a relaunch. The venue needed to come to life online: 3D room tours, a planner that lets prospective clients map out their event, and an enquiry flow that delivers qualified leads rather than empty contact forms.
Interactive elements like these are the real reason we use this stack for custom projects: they are part of the website, not an embedded third-party system.

Project example: Living Creations – a cohesive brand and website
For Living Creations GmbH, a company in the property sector, we developed the brand identity and website together. The benefit: the colour palette, typography and imagery are not created as a PDF for someone else to interpret later, but directly as a design system in code – the same tokens in print and on the web.

How to recognise a good Lovable agency
- They show live projects, not just screenshots from the editor.
- They discuss SEO before you ask – rendering, structure and indexing.
- They hand over your code and access credentials, without argument.
- They plan for ongoing operations, including maintenance and a point of contact.
- They tell you when Lovable is not the right choice – for example, for complex online shops with long-established ERP integrations.
If any of these points is missing, you are buying a prototype, not a website.
Common mistakes in AI-built projects
- No server-side rendering: The content is not in the HTML, so Google sees an empty page.
- One title for every page: Duplicate metadata, no rankings.
- No content management system: Every text change goes back to the agency.
- No permissions logic: Database tables without proper access rules.
- Off-the-shelf design: The typical AI look you recognise within three seconds.
All five issues can be avoided, but doing so takes experience. That is exactly what agencies are for.
Who this approach suits
Lovable paired with an agency works well if you need a custom website or internal tool, want to launch quickly and still value design and search visibility. If you only need a simple brochure site, a fixed-price Maluure-Page™ is often enough. And if your project depends on an established e-commerce system, we will tell you openly.
